Freezer Friday: meat and cheese

Ground meat: Divide it up. Purchase several family-size or on-sale packages of ground meat. But you don't want to put all of the meat in the freezer. Cook the ground meat as soon as you get home or form it into uncooked meatloaf, hamburgers, or meatballs that go straight into the freezer.
**When freezing meatloaf, place right in the pan which you will bake it. Try using a Bundt pan because the hole in the middle allows the meatloaf to cook more quickly.

Chicken: Cook in advance. Often, the large plastic bags of legs and thighs are very economical (Harris Teeter runs these B2G3 occasionally). I cook some of the chicken then chop or shred and freeze. You could also freeze single pieces too for 'single' servings.

Cheese: Stick it in the freezer. I buy cheese in blocks and toss in the freezer whole or sometimes I pre-shred.Pin It
